Contrariwise Hand-Dyed Flax Sliver (Ask Alice collection)

from $16.00

Hand-dyed fiber braid from the Ask Alice collection, Contrariwise is dyed on flax fiber. Flax is the material from which linen is made, and therefore responsible for one of my very favorite fabrics! The most well-known bast fiber in modernity, it has been edged out of the top spot by cotton and synthetics, but for durability, breathability, and sustainability, bast fibers can’t be beat.

Tweedledum and Tweedledee are odd ducks indeed, but definitely memorable ones! Their semi-random utterances of “Nohow!” and “Contrariwise” are particularly perplexing. Their scene is evoked in this colorway by soft primaries in a field of green. Photos are taken in natural light with as much color fidelity as possible, but please remember that screens vary, so from one device to another it may appear slightly different.

All my fibers are dyed in a smoke free, pet friendly home.

If you are interested in a larger quantity or would like to purchase Contrariwise on a different fiber base, please reach out to me! I’d be thrilled to dye up a batch to order.
