Fiber batt made using hand-dyed fibers, Kelp Forest is a blend of 71% wool (Romney/Cheviot cross, Columbia/Rambouillet cross, Cotswold/Wensleydale cross locks) processed from raw, domestically-sourced fleeces, 12% mohair, 6% Tussah silk, 6% bamboo, and 5% soysilk. The Romney/Cheviot and Cotswold/Wensleydale wools used in this blend are strong wools with striking lock structure and wavy crimp, while the Columbia/Rambouillet fleece is a softer, finer-crimp lock. These work together to provide both durability and a great hand to yarns produced from the blend, especially once the silk and other luxury fibers are added.
A mélange of greens and blues come together in this batt, evoking kelp strands swaying with wave and tide. Photos are taken in natural light with as much color fidelity as possible, but please remember that screens vary, so from one device to another it may appear slightly different.
