Rosy-Fingered Dawn art batt

$24.00

Fiber batt made using hand-dyed fibers, Rosy-Fingered Dawn is a blend of 93% wool (Romney/Cheviot cross from New England, Columbia/Rambouillet cross from Montana, Merino/Cotswold cross from Colorado, and Dorset from the UK), and 7% silk. The Columbia/Rambouillet and Merino/Cotswold fleeces offer a soft, fine-crimp lock and texture, while the Romney/Cheviot and Dorset are stronger wools. These work together to provide both durability and a great hand to yarns produced from the blend, especially once the silk is added.

Homer’s descriptions of color have spawned many academic debates over the millennia, but as color-allusions go, the rosy-fingered dawn is perhaps the most famous - or at the least a close runner-up to the wine-dark sea. Well, this batt is a two-for! You get reds and pinks and oranges of dawn, as well as dark blues and violets of the sea as it awaits the sun’s brightening.

Photos are taken in natural light with as much color fidelity as possible, but please remember that screens vary, so from one device to another it may appear slightly different.

3 oz batts.

All my fibers are dyed and blended in a smoke free, pet friendly home.

If you are interested in a larger quantity or would like to purchase Rosy-Fingered Dawn blended using different fibers, please reach out to me! I’d be thrilled to whip up a batch to order.
