Lava Flow consists of 82% wool (Romney/Cheviot cross, Columbia/Rambouillet cross, Cotswold/Wensleydale cross locks, Cheviot) processed from raw, regionally sourced fleeces, 12% rayon (pearl fiber, bamboo), 3% mohair, and 3% soysilk. The Romney/Cheviot, Cheviot, and Cotswold/Wensleydale used in this blend are strong wools with striking lock structure and wavy crimp, while the Columbia/Rambouillet fleece consists of softer, finer-crimp locks. These work together to provide both durability and a great hand to yarns produced from the blend. Mohair, soysilk, and rayon add texture and interest.
Dark grays and blacks in a field of pastoral blues and greens surround a fiery lava orange, evoking the moment that a fresh lava flow cuts through a verdant field. The shimmering pearl fiber gives the impression of steam rising.
