Fall Festival Locks, Gotland/Wensleydale Cross, 0.5 oz
Gotland is a rapidly-rising favorite breed of mine, and I’ve loved Wensleydales from the first moment I touched one of their fleeces. That made this cross a fleece I couldn’t pass up - and I’m so glad I didn’t! The natural gray-flecked oatmeal color of the wool adds depth and richness to the dye palette, making these autumnal hues seem to glow. Deep navy blue, burnt autumn orange, wine-dark burgundy, glittering gold - there’s a lot going on in this palett!
The locks measure from 5” to 7” in length, and are deliciously soft. Sold as 0.5 oz bundles, with a couple of extra locks added to each pack to offset weight of any possible debris left embedded in the unflicked tips (gotta leave that lock structure as intact as possible until the last minute!)
Longwool locks such as these are ideal for needle felting, wet felting, weaving accents, or any of a slew of spinning projects.
