Twitterpated DK handspun yarn

$20.00

Handspun yarn that teeters on the border between weight 3/DK and 4/worsted, 58 yards and 1.3 ounces (37 g), in Twitterpated colorway. The yarn measures 12 wpi. This yarn is spun with one ply of Charollais wool and one of Perendale wool. Masham is a fine wool with a micron count of 29-30 microns. Perendale is a medium, bouncy wool with a wide range (28-35 microns). The skein was dyed after spinning with high-quality acid-fast dyes.

This is a two-ply yarn finished with a Z twist, meaning it may feel more natural to crocheters and Continental knitters than the majority of commercial yarns - but English knitters needn’t feel left out; it can be knitted that way too! As for weaving, it would make a lovely weft and is also well suited to warp.

Twitterpated is a bright springy complementary colorway, in which a new-leaf green alternates with glorious brilliant pink. Photos are taken in natural light with as much color fidelity as possible, but please remember that screens vary, so from one device to another it may appear slightly different. However, the item shown is the item you will receive.

Yarn is wrapped in a hank. Caking is available upon request.

All my fibers are spun and dyed in a smoke free, pet friendly home.

Care instructions: hand wash finished items in cool to lukewarm water, with gentle detergent or baby shampoo. Do not subject to harsh scrubbing/wringing or sudden temperature shocks when wet unless felting is desired. Reshape and dry flat.

This is a one of a kind item. If you are interested in a larger quantity or would like to purchase Twitterpated in another format or on a different fiber base, please reach out to me! I’d be thrilled to spin and/or dye up a batch to order. It will obviously vary to an extent from this skein, but the spirit will remain the same.
