Wool from a sheep raised and shorn in Colorado, which began this phase of its life as a “project fleece” and has been processed right here. Staple length about 2”, soft as a pureblood merino. with a few tightly clumped pieces which mostly pull apart with some TLC. This fleece has been scoured, picked, dyed, and hand-teased open. Most VM has been removed through this process, but a bit does remain.
Perfect for those interested in working with wool a bit closer to the source but not ready to dive into scouring and dyeing a fleece from the beginning! Card it, felt it, spin it up wild and rustic - the choice is yours! It’s not going to make a sleek, slub-less yarn without a lot of wastage, but I’ve spun some very fun character yarns from this fleece.
Dusty, soft pinks and faded rose.
