Silk for Nuno Felting, Burgundy on blue low-water immersion organza
Silk organza is sheer and crisp, with a stiffer texture than other silks in this section. The loose weave helps the felting process, while the stiffness makes it stay put just a smidge better while laying out designs.
This piece is an 14×53” 5 mm organza scarf blank low-water-immersion dyed with shades of maroon and burgundy on a field of soft blue.
All of my nuno silks have unfinished edges. Some may have one or two selvedge edges but all have at least some raw edges. You can finish these by felting over them, rolling and stitching, or just leave them as-is for an extra rustic look.
